Building an open culture is incredibly important to us – one where we value, respect and celebrate difference which is why in January 2020, we signed up to the Valuable 500 campaign, strengthening our commitment to the inclusion of disabled people in business. The Valuable 500 was launched in 2019, calling on global businesses to advance disability inclusion in their organisations.
Diversity and Inclusion is a vital part of DLG’s success, which is why we are continuously striving to ensure our team is representative of the communities and customers we serve. Delivering on our commitment to the Valuable 500, we created three goals, which we are working to deliver, to support colleagues with different abilities:
- We are empowering our colleagues to talk about their mental health in an open way and equipping our Mental Health First Aiders and people managers to have these conversations
- We are embedding our workplace adjustment process to make it easier for our neurodivergent and disabled colleagues to receive the right support to be the best they can be
- We are sharing stories from neurodivergent and disabled role models to build greater understanding and respect amongst all our colleagues
