Nearly 300 claims for lost or damaged hearing aids because of wearing face masks

Dan Simson, Head of Home Insurance for Direct Line said: “With people required to wear a face mask in public, those with hearing loss have found it increasingly challenging. As face coverings are often secured using ear loops, which can dislodge behind-the-ear models or cause hearing aids tubes to become entangled when the wearer removes their mask. As a result, Direct line has seen nearly 300 claims for lost or damaged hearing aids, since March.”

Claire Foster, Marketing Director for Hidden Hearing said: “We found our customers becoming increasingly concerned about the prospect of knocking out their hearing aids when removing a mask and worried about staying in touch without them. With the help of some simple tips we were able to help them protect their hearing aids and stay connected, which is more important than ever during this socially distanced pandemic.”
